The Tri-State PGA tournament is coming to Mercer County! Registration for the event can be found on the Tri-State PGA website under Mercer County Tourism Pro-AM.
The first round of the tournament will be held at the Grove City Country Club on May 16th with a 10 am tee time. The second round of the tournament will be held on May 17th at Tam O’ Shanter Golf Course with a 9 am tee time.
John Kerins, co-owner of Tam O’ Shanter and PGA Director of Golf, worked to bring the tournament to Mercer County to help highlight the local courses and promote local shops, overnights stay, local restaurants, and to bring interest to the Mercer County area.
Kerins said they hope to bring in 120 golfers from West Virginia and the Pittsburgh area.
Founded in 1921, the Tri-State PGA is a section of the Professional Golfers Association of America. For the last 90 years, 390 PGA members and apprentices at over 200 facilities in Western Maryland, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia have served the golfing community with various services and programs that are designed to heighten their enjoyment of the golf game.
This organization is committed to the growth and vitality of the game of golf within the Tri-State area.
This event is open to the public and free of charge for guests who would like to watch the tournament. Those who wish to play in the tournament will be required to contact their local PGA professional.
