Kayakers and canoers will be flocking to Mercer County this August 27th to participate in the inaugural Lake to Lake Paddle Challenge. This is a paddle craft challenge for all skill levels on scenic, class 1, Shenango River Water Trail.
For those looking for an adventure out on the water, the Lake to Lake Paddle Challenge is the perfect way to see Mercer County’s beautiful scenery while enjoying outdoor sports.
Participants will have the choice of two distances, either 30 miles or 15 miles:
The 30 Mile Challenge – Competitive Class begins at the Pymatuning State Park and ends on the Shenango River Lake at the Clark Recreation Area. Rolling start times are 9 am – 9:30 am, chip timed. This challenge features over $5,000 in cash prizes.
The 15 Mile Challenge – Adventure Class begins at Kidd’s Mill Covered Bridge and also ends on the Shenango River Lake at the Clark Recreation Area. Rolling start times are 11 am- 11:30 am, chip timed. The overall top ten finishers will receive a medal and $50 in prize money.
Shuttle transportation will also be available for participants. The shuttle for the 30 Mile Challenge will run from 6:45 am-8:00 am. The shuttle for the 15 Mile Challenge will run from 8:30 am-10:00 am.
