This Memorial Day Weekend, Visit a Different Kind of Music Festival in Mercer County, PA April 25th, 2019

Come play your music! You are the entertainment!  If you enjoy music with melodies that are fun for dancing, come enjoy three fun-filled days of music and dancing at the 13th National Button Accordion Festival. 

The Apollo Maennerchor, 291 South Dock Street, Sharon, PA, is the host This Memorial Day Weekend, Visit a Different Kind of Music Festival in Mercer County, PAfor this truly unique event on Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26, 2019. Festival hours are Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from Noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This is the largest button accordion festival in the country, and players come from all over the United States to perform.   All types of accordions welcome!   All styles of Polka music welcome!   Festival ethnic attire encouraged!  The Festhalle is a beautiful traditional ballroom with wood styling and a large dance floor. You can sit outside on the large patio where people gather to socialize or listen to individual players who may be exchanging songs.

There will be vendors selling a variety of related festival items. The very best in micro-brew beers and authentic German beers on draft!  Great home-made food from the Maennerchor kitchen!   Please, no outside food, snacks, or beverages.

Free polka dance lessons are being offered on Saturday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the ballroom. Lynda McPhail, professional dance instructor, will teach the polka dance class. Memorial Day will be celebrated on Sunday, May 26 at 12:30 p.m. with a program honoring Veterans, followed by an accordion concert.  Afterward, the jamming and Festhalle music and dancing starts and continues until the 9 p.m. closing.  The Festival ends with the traditional Sunday evening “Grand Jam.”   All the accordion players line the floor and play a long medley together to end the weekend of music.
