Explore waterfalls and one of Mercer County’s first iron ore furnaces. See Hell’s Hollow Farm with an old stone house that was built in 1824 and wander through acres of historic Indian hunting grounds. There are numerous smaller trails for your enjoyment including Trout Island Trail in Sharpsville and self-guided nature trails managed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers at Shenango River Lake. Buhl Park Fitness Trail offers a 9/10 mile-long trail that provides fitness stations for stretching, muscle development, and cardio.
On the Shenango River Trail in Greenville, you can enjoy comfortable walking, biking, or running, on the 1.3 miles that are completed of the planned 10.5-mile trail. This trail is made of crushed limestone, and part of the trail travels around Riverside Park. Take a leisurely walk with family or go on an exhilarating run while enjoying the pleasant scenery of this beautiful, well-kept trail. This trail starts on Main St. in Greenville and ends at Porter Rd on Rt. 58.
