With the arrival of September comes a variety of live music and other performances across Mercer County. Whether you’re looking for something to do with friends or family, or just want to enjoy some great music and performances, this is the place to be!
The line-up kicks off with the Annual Buhl Concert Day on September 4th at 1 p.m. This event, held at the Buhl Park Amphitheater, will feature a performance by the Shenango Valley Chorale as they showcase selections from their spring concert. This event is free and open to the public.
On September 8th, you can visit Big Rail Brewing to see live music by Well Strung. This bluegrass band is great entertainment on a Friday night paired with the wonderful libations Big Rail Brewing offers.
The exciting events continue with the Big Rail Homebrew Fest on September 9th at 1 pm. This event will feature local homebrewed beers, delicious bites from the Taqueria El Pastor Cito food truck, and live entertainment by the Ben Gage Band. Guests can get in for $10 and get a sample souvenir glass. Treebeard Brown at Margarita King will also be held on September 9th at 7 pm.
September 9th is also the day of the 44th Annual Lake Latonka Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is held at 420 Latonka Lake Drive in Mercer and will feature over 120 artisans, crafters, and businesses. Admission is free, and there will also be a free shuttle bus and free parking. The event will also showcase all-day live entertainment, delicious food offerings, and an all-day raffle with over $1,500 in prizes!
September 16th from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., don’t miss WaterFire in downtown Sharon! This event will feature 50 braziers anchored in the Shango River that will be set ablaze at nightfall to create a stunning display. Pre-recorded music and live musicians will perform from WFS boats for an immersive and memorable experience. Enjoy the food court, children’s fun zone, gaming plaza, and more at this wonderful community event!
Another music-filled event is the Smoke, Salt, & Blues Fest 2023 at Big Rail Brewing on September 23rd, starting at 1 pm! It will be a full day of non-stop music, craft beer tastings, local food trucks, and more! The music lineup includes Max Schang Trio of Blues, Rodger Montgomery Band, Charlie Barath Blues Band, and Lori Russo & The Uppercuts. So come on down and join the fun.
Looking for laughs? Visit the BLOCK in Sharon, PA, for a comedy night hosted by Nova Destinations. This event will be held on September 29th from 6-9 pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Doors for the event will open at 4 pm, with the show starting at 7 pm. This show will feature four different comedians; tickets are just $10 each!
