Event Details

The Grove City Area Historical Society opened its doors for this new season on May 1, 2022. There is much to see and do, and the first scheduled activity of the season occurs on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. when Peggy Loughner Fisher, long-time Grove City resident and author of Daddy Came Home will share, through some of her father’s own words, personal accounts of the WWII atrocities that Corporal Earl E. Loughner endured during the Bataan Death March. Corporal Loughner was a POW for 3 1/2 years. You will “feel” his struggles and get a glimpse into what his family was going through during the time he was missing in action, was a prisoner of war, and after he arrived home. Mark your calendar so you do not miss this first of the three speaker events being offered for Spring.

The historical society, located at 111 College Avenue is open to the public free of charge every Monday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. and Tuesdays through Saturdays from Noon until 3 p.m. A volunteer will be glad to provide a free tour through the 21 rooms of displays, and we guarantee you will be amazed and appreciative of the history of the Grove City area housed in this historic building.
