Evening River Festivities: Light and Fire on the Shenango
As night falls, WaterFire Sharon delivers its signature experience: the lighting of the Shenango River. The evening begins at 8:30 PM with a traditional Blessing of the River by Native American Leon Briggs.
At 9:00 PM, the WaterFire Globe is illuminated, followed by the lighting of 55 floating braziers filled with cedar and pine. Reflected in the river’s surface and accompanied by hauntingly beautiful music, this fiery display transforms the downtown into an immersive work of art. Fire performers Jimmy Pyro and Ruby will be lighting up the venue throughout the evening, adding bursts of energy and artistry to the celebration.
Beyond the Flames: Artisans, Food, and Local Flavor
The event isn’t just about the fire. WaterFire Sharon is also a celebration of local creativity, flavor, and community.
The artisan market will feature handcrafted goods from regional artists and makers, perfect for finding a meaningful souvenir or gift. Throughout the day, a variety of food vendors will serve up everything from festival favorites to international bites. You can also explore Sharon’s charming shops, restaurants, and cafes, many of which offer extended hours and specials during the event.
