Transition into Fall: Catch the Last Farmer’s Markets of the Season and other Events in Mercer County This October!
As the weather cools and summer fades, the Downtown Sharon Farmers Market is wrapping up for the season—but Mercer County has plenty to look forward to, including an international dinner and other exciting events on October 11!
The Mystery of Edwin Drood at ACTS Performing Arts Center
Enjoy a night at the theater to enjoy the Tony Award-winning musical by Rupert Holmes (Escape: The Pina Colada Song), based on an unfinished book by Charles Dickens. Showtime is 7:30 pm on Saturday with a matinee show at 2:30 pm on Sunday.

Downtown Sharon Farmers Market
Visit the market on October 11, under the pavilion next to Quaker Steak & Lube near the Sharon roundabout. This event takes place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and features live music, kids’ activities, and the Farmer Dollar Program. A pumpkin patch decoration station will also be available.
You can also bring the kids to the market on October 25 for their special Trick-or-Treat event with the farmers and artisans. Close out the summer and kick off the fall fun at the farmers’ market!
International Night Dinner with cuisine from Japan
Visit the historic Gibson House for a night of delicious Japanese cuisine on October 11 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Japanese cuisine includes the regional and traditional foods of Japan, that have developed through centuries of political, economic, and social changes.
This event will focus on washoku, or traditional Japanese cuisine, featuring dishes such as rice with miso soup and other delicacies that emphasize seasonal ingredients. Curry rice, considered one of Japan’s national dishes, is enjoyed by people of all ages in Japan and will be one of the featured dishes.
Guests can expect to enjoy a main course with a selection of traditional sides and desserts. The menu will also include beverages and wine pairings served by Gatehouse Winery. Music will be provided, along with a rotating slideshow on Japan’s history from the 1800s to the 1900s.

Strayhaven Run for Paws 5K
Get running for a good cause on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 am in Riverside Park, Greenville, PA, for the Strayhaven Run for the Paws 5K! This scenic course takes walkers and runners through Riverside Park and along the beautiful Shenango River Trail.
