Kick off your summer with a scenic paddle along the Shenango River at the Spring Paddle Fest, hosted by the Shenango River Watchers. This community event offers a leisurely 9-mile journey through Mercer County’s natural beauty, suitable for paddlers of all skill levels.

Event Overview

  • Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025
  • Start Location: Pymatuning State Park – 1 Water Trail Drive, Jamestown, PA
  • End Location: Riverside Park – 45 Alan Ave, Greenville, PA
  • Distance: Approximately 9 miles (~3.5 hours) on Class I water
  • Registration Fee: $20 online, $25 on the day of the event
  • T-Shirts: Available for $20 with online registration until May 15; limited quantities available at the event
  • Lunch: Provided at Riverside Park from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Schedule and Logistics

  • Gear Drop-Off: Bring your kayak or canoe to the launch site below the dam at Pymatuning State Park.
  • Check-In: Visit the Shenango River Watchers Registration Table.
  • Vehicle Parking: Drive to Riverside Park in Greenville to park your vehicle.
  • Shuttle Service: Shuttles run every 30 minutes from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, transporting participants back to the launch site.
  • Paddle: Begin your journey down the Shenango River, concluding at Riverside Park.
  • Post-Paddle Lunch: Enjoy a meal at Riverside Park between 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
Restroom facilities are available at the launch site, midway point (205 Halfway Rd, Jamestown, PA), and at Riverside Park.

Equipment Rental

Participants must provide their own kayaks or canoes. For rental options, contact Carried Away Outfitters at (724) 343-1313.
