Soar Into Adventure: Eagle Watching Event in Mercer County – January 10
If you’re looking for an unforgettable winter experience in Mercer County, mark your calendar for Saturday, January 10, when the Mercer County Conservation District and Shenango River Watchers, Inc., come together to host an exciting Eagle Watching Event.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., families, photographers, nature lovers, and curious visitors are invited to gather at 5500 Saranac Drive, Transfer, PA 16150, for a morning devoted to the incredible bald eagle and the beautiful natural habitats that surround Shenango River Lake.
This free, family-friendly event offers an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors during winter while learning more about one of America’s most iconic birds.
A Day of Eagle Discovery
Winter provides some of the best eagle-viewing opportunities in Mercer County as the birds gather near areas of open water, making sightings especially rewarding. When the lake freezes, open-water areas like Chestnut Run Swim Beach and the Route 18 access point become hotspots for eagle activity.
Throughout the day, guides and volunteers will be available to help visitors safely observe eagles in their natural environment, answer questions, and point out key viewing locations.
So bundle up, bring your binoculars and camera, and get ready to witness these magnificent birds in action.
Activities for All Ages
A full lineup of engaging activities makes this event fun for every member of the family:
