Shenango River Watchers Celebrate the 2024 Paddle Fest

Paddlefest Returns to the Shenango River this Fall on September 28th, 2024

The Shenango River Watchers, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the Shenango River in western Pennsylvania, is holding their annual Paddle Fest event on June 15th, 2024. This event celebrates the river and all the recreational opportunities it provides for the community.

You will begin your float at Pymatuning State Park and travel to Riverside Park. Busing will be provided from Riverside Park to Pymatuning, running every 30 minutes from 8:00-11:00 a.m.  Lunch will be provided at Riverside Park from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm.

This float is 9 miles, roughly 3.5 hours on Class 1 Water. Restrooms are available at the launch, mid-float at Halfway Rd., and at the takeout. You can register online for $15 per paddler or register the day of the event for $20 from 7:00-10:00 a.m.

But Paddle Fest is not just about having fun on the river. It also serves as a fundraiser for the Shenango River Watchers, helping to support their efforts in river clean-up and conservation projects.

The Shenango River has a rich history and is important to the local community. By participating in Paddle Fest, you are supporting a great cause and learning about the river’s significance and the work it takes to keep it clean and healthy for future generations.

So mark your calendars for June 15th, 2024, and join the Shenango River Watchers in celebrating the beautiful Shenango River! For more information or to register, visit https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Jamestown/SpringPaddleFest
