Sharon PA Welcomes You to their St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The City of Sharon will soon be turning green for St. Patrick’s Day! Slainte Sharon St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held to celebrate the city and Mercer County.

Slainte, pronounced Slawn-cha, is known as a popular toast in Ireland, meaning “cheers” and/or “to your health” in Irish Gaelic.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Sharon, PA

The parade will start at 5:30 PM Thursday, March 16, on the campus of Penn State Shenango and will end at The Original Quaker Steak & Lube in Sharon around 6:30 PM.

The parade will feature special guests such as Burke’s School of Irish Dance, who will also perform afterward at Quaker Steak & Lube. Other participants include the Ancient Order of Hibernians Sons of Erin Division/Mercer County, veteran organizations, and more!

After the parade, guests can enjoy festivities at Quaker Steak & Lube, where there will be award announcements and fireworks. Pet owners are encouraged to dress up their pets and themselves in their St. Patrick’s Day best to participate beside the floats, Irish-related organizations, elected officials, school bands, veteran organizations, and more who will be featured in the parade.

Guests are encouraged to bring items for animals in need, such as gently used bedding/towels, litter, and pet food. These items will be donated to local animal organizations – who are judging the parade, such as Tails of Hope and Strayhaven, among others!
