The 11th Annual Greenville Heritage Days Festival is July 7 and 8, 2018. The two-day festival, sponsored by the Greenville Museum Alliance (The Waugh House, The Railroad Park Museum and the Canal Museum), showcases the rich history of the community. Visitors to the festival can participate in a 5K run, feast on festival fare, view classic automobiles, enjoy reenactments, listen to music, watch old-time artisans work their craft, visit the museums, and watch fireworks.
The Heritage Days 5K Run at 9 a.m. will start the Saturday, July 7 festivities, followed by Heritage Days Super Cruise Car Show with over 700 classic automobiles lining Main Street. A line-up of entertainment from local musicians will be showcased all day on both days at two performance stages: the Amphitheater in Riverside Park and the Rotary Pavilion next to the Senior Center. The USO Show is an annual version of an old-time USO Show featuring local vocalists and musicians on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Greenville Area High School Auditorium. The Ride Zone will include bounce houses and Euro Bungee.
Available at the Kid Zone are arts and crafts, old fashioned games, T-shirt painting, artisan demonstrations, and more. The Kids Annual Passport to Greenville allows kids who complete activities at participating businesses a chance to win the grand prize basket. Another popular event, Adopt a Rubber Ducky to help fight cancer, offers a grand prize of $500 with numerous other prizes.
The grand finale to the event will be a fireworks display on Sunday night at 10 p.m. Visit Greenville Heritage Days website for a list of event times, entertainment performers, and event locations: http://www.greenvilleheritagedays.com/.
