Because a previous “Show and Tell” program was so well received, the Grove City Area Historical Society events committee is bringing the event back to share an entirely new set of ‘favorite artifacts’ for the first of their Fall Speaker’s Series programs on September 24, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. Society members will choose favorite artifacts and share the story behind them.
Hear the tale of the Fithian Motorcar, the first-of-a-kind motorhome-type vehicle that carried Mr. E.J. Fithian across the state on the Prohibition ticket for Governor. Learn about the old maps in the society’s possession. Listen to the tale of the Filer House, Grove City’s earliest hotel and reminisce at the collection of savings banks that were a part of Grove City banking history and no doubt your childhood memories.
Finally, our historic books come to the table, and everyone present that evening will get a ticket entering them into a drawing for three of these incredibly special books. Light refreshments will follow. All Speaker Series events are free of charge and open to the public. The Grove City Area Historical Society & Museum is located at 111 College Ave., Grove City.
