Event Details

It is time once again to relax from the bustle of summer events and take advantage of some enlightening offerings from the Grove City Area Historical Association and Museum.  The 2021 Fall Speaker Series is offering up three more presentations of fascinating information about not only influential people and artifacts in Grove City’s early history but introducing you to a local businessman making history across the country with a surprising product.

The first event will occur on Monday, September 20th at 6:30 p.m. in the Old Presbyterian Cemetery on Greenwood Drive in Grove City.  We return there for the second time to introduce you to another list of notables in Grove City’s early development. The rain date for this event is Tuesday, September 21st.

On Monday, October 11, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. local resident Grant McKnight will present at the historical society’s 111 College Avenue location. Mr. McKnight is the leading supplier of infield playing surfaces to major league baseball teams and their affiliates. It will be fascinating to learn how that all started here in Grove City and what’s involved in the production and installation of those surfaces.

Finally, on Monday, October 25, 2021, again at 6:30 p.m. at the society headquarters, 111 College Ave., the volunteers of the historical society will provide a “Show and Tell” experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear the story of favorite museum artifacts, oftentimes little seen and under-appreciated pieces. Don’t miss this one!

Each evening’s presentation last about half an hour and is followed by questions and refreshments. Plan to join us for these free events.
