Mercer County, PA – WaterFire Sharon, PA, a free art, music, food and performance festival, will kick off the first of three summer series on July 15, 2017, with the theme “Back to Our Roots – Honoring Ancestry.” The family and pet-friendly event begins with artists and food vendors at noon and entertainment at one of three stages starting at 1 p.m. and ending at 11:15 p.m. The much-anticipated lighting of the braziers on the Shenango River will be at dusk.
WaterFire Sharon will host over 50 artisans and non-profit organizations in downtown Sharon, PA. Each will be selling and showcasing their specialties including fine arts, crafts, jewelry, and more. There will be 24 food vendors at two locations this year: Food Court East in the parking lot that sits between E. Connelly Blvd, Chestnut St. and S. Railroad St; and Food Court West in the Reyers Shoe Store parking lot off South Water Ave. Restaurants in downtown Sharon will also be serving their own delicious creations.
Entertainment will cover a large range of genres including Blues, Classic Rock, Traditional Croatian, Polka, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Dance Music. Musicians will include Hubbard Music’s Rockstar University, FX Project, Reissue, Veseljaci Tamburitzan Orchestra, Charlie Wheeler Band, Chardon Polka Band, Dave Toliver Band, Teddy Pantelas Quartet, John Reese Project, and the Hall of Famers Rock Show featuring Mary & Glenn with the 730 Club Band.
Behind PNC Bank on Chestnut Street from 1-7 p.m., kids will be able to make boats donated by Hermitage Home Depot, create ornaments with yarn, navigate an obstacle course, and participate in kids’ yoga, coloring, and other crafts. Kids will also enjoy the petting zoo in Riverview Gardens.
